چکیده

All the human blood vessels are surrounded by adipose tissue. Therefore in biomechanics of blood vessels, it is important to deal not only with the constitutive modelling of blood vessels as such but also with the mechanical properties of surrounding tissue. In this study, mechanical response of human perivascular adipose tissue that surrounds the abdominal aorta is concerned. From the performed uniaxial tensile tests, a representative experimental curve was selected to be fitted by hyperelastic models. The experiments showed nonlinear behavior of the tissue with gradual stiffening at higher deformations. Constitutive models Ogden, Gent, Fung were used. The material parameters estimated by nonlinear regression analysis are = 0.001 MPa and = 28, = 0.026 MPa and =0.067, = 0.018 MPa and b = 31.834, respectively. It was concluded that all applied mathematical models predicted material behavior satisfactorily with coefficient of determination 0.995, 0.981, 0.994, respectively.

Anisotropic constitutive equations and experimental tensile behavior of brain tissue.

The present study deals with the experimental analysis and mechanical modeling of tensile behavior of brain soft tissue. A transversely isotropic hyperelastic model recently proposed by Meaney (2003) is adopted and mathematically studied under uniaxial loading conditions. Material parameter estimates are obtained through tensile tests on porcine brain materials accounting for regional and direc...

Failure Prediction during uniaxial Superplastic Tension using Finite Element Method

Superplastic materials show a very high ductility. This is due to both peculiar process conditions and material intrinsic characteristics. However, a number of superplastic materials are subjected to cavitation during superplastic deformation. Evidently, extensive cavitation imposes significant limitations on their commercial application. The deformation and failure of superplastic sheet metals...

Mechanical properties variation and constitutive modelling of biomedical polymers after sterilization.

PURPOSE In this work, the mechanical behavior of two block copolymers for biomedical applications is studied with particular regard to the effects induced by a steam sterilization treatment that biomedical devices usually undergo in healthcare facilities. This investigation is aimed at describing the elasto-plastic behavior of the stress-strain response, determining a functional dependence betw...

A constitutive model for the warp-weft coupled non-linear behavior of knitted biomedical textiles.

Knitted textiles have been used in medical applications due to their high flexibility and low tendency to fray. Their mechanics have, however, received limited attention. A constitutive model for soft tissue using a strain energy function was extended, by including shear and increasing the number and order of coefficients, to represent the non-linear warp-weft coupled mechanics of coarse textil...

The reduction of aorta histopathological images through inhibition of reactive oxygen species formation in hypercholesterolemia rattus norvegicus treated with polysaccharide peptide of Ganoderma lucidum

Objective(s):Atherosclerosis is chronic inflammatory process triggered by oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can increase hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)level, which induce atherosclerosis through the processes such as formation of perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT), foam cells, and atherosclerotic plaque. Antioxidant is needed to control negative effects of oxidative stress. One source of antioxidant...
